Turkey Life Cycle: Thanksgiving STEM Activity for Kindergarten
This Turkey Life Cycle activity is perfect for STEM learning for Thanksgiving in Kindergarten if you’re looking for Fall Activities that promote learning while having fun!
I thought for a long time on how I want to incorporate Thanksgiving into learning at our home; and I ultimately decided that I was going to share my Thanksgiving printables on History with just my kids as I know that it’s really controversial on how to share historical facts for young kids.

I did, however, jump from my comfort zone of ELA and Math so focus on more of a STEM and Science activity. I’m so happy to share with you what I’ve created and how I was able to incorporate a little of learning and a lot of bit of fun this November.

STEM Learning this Thanksgiving
I love how versatile this Turkey Life Cycle STEM Activity really is!
The vocabulary words were created such that if you wanted to cut them into flashcards and laminate them for future use, you most definitely can. It include a picture, the word with dots, and a section for tracing. This is a great activity for visual learners because there are many opportunities to associate the word with the picture!
The other sections include a spinner that shows the four quadrants of the life cycle. I find that a lot of kinesthetic learners like this activity because it’s hands-on and moves!
The mini-book and primer is a great way to have kids practice scissor skills while coloring between the lines. This hones fine motor skills.

How To Use It
The complete directions are including in a parent and teacher guide in the first few pages of the workbook.
You can turn the vocabulary into a memory game by printing multiple copies and cutting them into cards. There is always the option of also hiding the images in a sensory bin to help bring a tactile element to learning.
You can pair it with a read aloud from the list below. That really draws in the auditory learners! Kids love learning about animals and turkeys are no exception! Make sure to include this STEM activity in your Thanksgiving fun this year!
